Gasoline, the new headache

October 3rd, 2005 · No Comments

Before I went to America I had heard that gas prices were rising. That was before Hurricane Katrina. As I got to Houston, I found that gas prices were up to $3.19 a gallon. Fortunately, after the immediate crisis was over, prices dropped down to $2.49.

Still, in the Fort Worth and Dallas areas, prices stayed up around $2.79 to $2.89. In Mississippi prices were lower than in Texas. There doesn’t seem to be any reason for the sharp differences in prices.

Of course, it’s all in your perspective. Germans and Brits are accustomed to paying high prices for gas and we here in Ukraine are getting a taste of $3 a gallon for fuel. How I long for those good ole days of 99 cent gas…
