I arrived back home in Kiev last Tuesday afternoon. It felt good to be “home” even if only for a few days before hitting the road again on Sunday night.
I am very careful to use the word “home” to describe the place I live in Kiev. I’m afraid it might upset some family members. However, for me it is home. It is where I like to be when I am not on the road.
The apartment that the IMB provides for me is more than adequate and I am blessed to have it. The only problem is that it is situated in a part of Kiev that doesn’t have a metro near it and there are frequent traffic jams in my area. It causes me stress if I have to go somewhere during the high traffic times.
However, it is still home. Home is where your heart is, and mine is in eastern Europe right now.
