Third Day has a great song from their “Wired” CD called Rock Star. In the end, Mac “discovers” that he doesn’t have what it takes and that its alright.
Well, I don’t really have any aspirations of being a rock star, now would I really want to be. However, my colleagues and I have been trying for months to come up with a name for our team.
Our group is here in Kazakhstan to reach out to Russian speakers. However, I was hesitant to call them “Russian” since many of them are Ukrainians, Byelorussians, Moldovans, Germans, etc. I was trying to call them Slavic, however, Germans do not fit that mold either.
Recently, I posted about a conversation I had with a German national who’s mother tongue is Russian. He gave me some great insight and since then I have had several others confirm what he said to me.
So, then we talked about the team concept. We are a “team” however, we are located in different cities stretching more than 1200 km (almost 750 miles). So we have decided to call ourselves ROK group- Russians Of Kazakhstan group.
Please pray for us as we develop plans and strategies to reach the ROK’s!
