Summer house visit

June 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

During the Soviet Union time, many (if not all) people had summer houses and gardens.  People used these places to raise fruits and vegetables to supplement their food during the long winters.  Today many people just do not have the time or interest in a summer garden.

One of my neighbor’s, Nina, invited me to her summer house to check on the progress.  We drove out there on Saturday.  Here are a few photos…

Potatoes are the biggest garden land grabber.  Other plants have their place as well.  The third photo is of strawberries.  Can you see them?  I have some in my refrigerator from this garden!  The last photo is of Nina (my neighbor) and Galina (her niece).
