This is my 600th post in a 3+ years. It has been an interesting time. I started this blog in February 2005 when I first moved to Kazakhstan. At the time it was a new way to keep people informed of how God is moving in distant lands, far removed from America.
With the internet now, it is possible for instant communication. I have a Vonage phone and can call family and friends with a US number. I can send emails instantly to ask for prayer, check on someone’s health and through the internet I can order flowers, pay bills, etc. I have spoken to RA’s and GA’s through Skype and even did a video interview recently for a Louisiana church.
So, life as a missionary has changed quite dramatically from those days when Lottie Moon lived in China. I stand amazed at how God is using mass media to reach the masses!
It has been almost one year since I moved permanently to Karaganda. I am so content with live here. As I type this, I am sitting in my kitchen with the window shades open. It is 6:30 p.m. and people are talking walks through the city. Traffic isn’t bad, trees have bloomed and people have shed their long coats for shorts.
Speaking of traffic, I want to say a BIG thank you for those who stop by and check out the website. I don’t update it as often as I would like, but am going to make a concerted effort to do so for the next 3 months!
Recently I found out some stats on the traffic here on the site. I was surprised (too say the least) of what I found out.
Thus far in 2008, there have been over 4,000 visitors to the site. There have been almost 12,000 visits. Where do most of the visitors come from? Well, most are from the US. However, here is just a taste of some of the other countries… Spain, Russia, Canada, Germany, Great Britian, Australia, Israel,Hungary, Czech Rep, China, South Kore, Brazil, Mexico and lots of other European countries.
Some people find the site through Google, Yahoo and other search engines. However, most people come to the site because they have it bookmarked. There were more than 1,500 visitors during the month of March (the record thus far)!
Again, I want to say thank you for stopping by, praying for and supporting the ministry in Kazakhstan. Please continue to do so! Please feel free to leave a comment to let me know where you are from!
