Can you say…traffic jam?!?

This morning I had to drive to a colleague’s apartment at 8:15 a.m. It has been some time that I have had to be out that early in the morning, especially since school has started.

My sleepy neighborhood is growing by leaps and bounds. Several new high rise apartments have been constructed and several more are being built. What this means is that more and more people are moving into this area.

What it also means is that parking has become a REAL problem. It is almost impossible to find a parking spot near my apartment. Thankfully, I have a spot in the underground parking garage 10 minutes away.

However, I came home late last night and decided to park in front of my apartment since I had to leave early this morning. I left a few minutes early, got in my car and started driving around the building.

Near my apartment are a school and a kindergarten (preschool). I was amazed to see that there were so many people dropping their children off at these two places. Most of the schools are neighborhood schools where children walk to school. However, there must be lots of students coming in from other places and it took me 5 minutes to navigate around and wait for cars.

I couldn’t believe that there were so many cars in my neighborhood. I’m afraid it is a sign of things to come… traffic, yes. Jam, not yet, but building…
