Week of March 14, 2005
Thank you for taking time to pray for these requests.
PRAISES: We have rented an apartment in Temirtau which will serve as a ministry base for the new church plant. The apartment is located near the center of the city. There are thousands of people living in the region.
Anatoly and Luda Abdeyev: new Church Planter in Temirtau. Pray for the Lord to give him wisdom, strength, boldness to minister to the people there and for God to direct every step. For him to be brave and do that which the Lord directs and not to give in to traditions for tradition sake, but to seek to know and do as the Bible says.
Umar Kazixodzhayev, is a student at the Almaty Bible Institute. He, along with his wife and 4 daughters live in Kyrgyzstan where he serves as pastor of a church. He requests prayer for his family and ministry.
Suran Aidarkulov, is also a student and also lives in Kyrgyzstan. He asks for prayer for his family and for the small group which he leads in a village.
Talgat Joidashev, is a student and his biggest dream/ prayer is to be a missionary! He asks for God to always impart on him the words of Paul in Acts 20:24 where Paul says, “But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, in order that I may finish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.
MINISTRY: Anatoly and I are in the process of setting up the apartment with books, Bibles, tea cups, etc in order for him to begin meeting and working in Temirtau. Pray for all the right resources to be available to us in order to get this done quickly. Currently, I do not have a car. The mission automobile was involved in an accident late last year and they haven’t finished repairing all of it. The Baptist Union here has been letting me use one of their cars. The clutch went out on it last week and they are repairing it as well. Pray for the mission car to be repaired soon.
I will be in Karaganda and Temirtau this week. I will probably go to Astana (the capital) for a couple of days next week. I may leave Sunday evening and probably won’t have internet there, so I will try to send the Priority letter either on Sunday before I leave but it may be Tuesday or Wednesday when I get back.
Pray for my relationship with brothers and sisters here in Karaganda and surrounding cities. I met several brothers at the Bible Institute who live in this area. I would like to visit them and see how I can help them in ministry.
SALVATION: Please pray for Orlan, Valeri, Boglan, Slavic. Several of these guys work at the parking lot. Pray for God to give me opportunities to witness. Also, pray for my friends in Kiev: Tatiyana, Pasha, Alexi, Katya, Olya, Natasha, Alosha.
PERSONAL: I am confident that I know the direction my future will take but am waiting for a couple of things to happen before announcing what. Pray for God to continue to affirm these decisions.
I continue on the diet, but have hit a wall. Pray for God to continue to work in my life for me to make healthy choices. Also, since the first of January I have had an pain in my right leg. I am sure that it is a pulled muscle. I sought an opinion from a doctor who too thinks it is a pulled muscle. I am hoping to see a doctor while I am in Almaty later this month. It does not hurt all the time, however, last Thursday while Anatoly and I were in Temirtau we had to do a lot of walking and it was hurting by the time I got home. I visited my dentist in Kiev and had some work done before I left in January. I was having some pain in one tooth and they took an x-ray of it and it showed nothing. Well, it is hurting again and I’m not sure where to turn. I am unsure what to do next.
Have a blessed week.
