This weekend found me in Vinnitsa. The city is about 4 hours southwest of Kyiv. There are about 500,000 people living there. It was the first time I had been there and I was able to visit what I would consider one of the most beautiful Baptist churches I have ever seen!
I took 4 Kiev Christian University with me so that we could share in a youth service about their time in Kstan. There were about 100 young people there. I preached from Matthew 28:19-20 and specifically the word “Go”. We also showed a video from the student’s trip.
At the end of the service there were between 10-15 people who indicated an interest in going to Kstan next summer. It was great to see the response. God is working in the lives of young people all across this country and asking them to “go into all the world.”
Sunday morning I preached at another Baptist church in the city and then on Monday I spoke to about 50 Bible college students. What was really cool there was that I shared the Matthew 28:19-20 passage and then there was a professor who spent then next 2 hours discussing this passage and talking to the students about global missions. It was not planned as I had never met the professor. It was a God thing! PTL!
While in Vinnitsa I also had time to visit one of my favorite brothers, Anatoli. I met him 2 years ago while driving a van during the Bicycle ride across the Ukraine. He was our team leader.
Anatoli is a breath of fresh air among Baptist workers in the country. He works tirelessly to mentor young men to become the men God desires them to be.
God is definitely at work in Ukraine. Please pray for us.
