I arrived at Grace church right as the service was set to begin. Since I didn’t go to be until 2:30 a.m. this morning, it was tough getting up to go to a 10 a.m. service, but I did!
The room was unusually packed early. They had had a baptism service in the Dniper River at 8 a.m. (I can only imagine how COLD the water must have been). So, there were some guest at the service.
I appreciate the baptism services here. After the morning sermon, the pastor allowed each baptised person to share their testimony of how they came to the Lord, about the baptism itself, who introduced them to Christ. It was extremely moving to listen to them share. Several of them cried as they shared who was involved in them coming to know Christ.
Afterwards, we all partook in the Lord’s Supper. It is a touching service and one that I am thankful to be a part of from time to time. Baptism services here are only held a couple of times a year so they tend to be very meaningful.
