Well, the warm temperatures we have been experiencing in Texas are gone for now. An artic cold front swept across Wichita Falls at noon on Wednesday and temps fell 20 degrees in a few hours. Such is life here.
Thursday morning I was woken up by thunder moving through. First rain fell and then sleet for a few hours. Within a couple of hours the roads were covered with ice. Texans don’t really know how to drive in this mess.
I had to take my mother to the doctor so I wasn’t looking forward to being on the road. It’s not me that I worry about. It’s the guy going 40-50 mph in his Ford F350 truck!!! Fortunately, even with the roads being as slick as they were, people were driving carefully.
I went to Denny’s at 8 p.m. last night to have coffee with a friend. The roads were treacherous, and a 15 minute drive took 35. It got down in the teens last night, but it should warm to the lower 40’s today. Snow is melting quickly… such is life in Texas. Here today, gone tomorrow…
