Spring Hasn't Sprung, Yet!

Winter has made a return performance (as if it needed another shot!). It has snowed the last 4 days and last night I walked to the gym where I have been playing basketball and on the return trip the wind has started to really blow and the snow was hitting my face like needles pricking the skin.

I think I am handling this okay, but I am so ready for spring. I get headlines from the Dallas Morning News each day and the forecast is listed and I am envious of the warm temperatures they are experiencing there.

It’s an interesting dichotomy. I love the look of the whiteness of a new snowfall. I love the crispness of the air and the crunching noise while walking on the snow. Yet, I grow tired of it quickly and want it to be gone. I am a little tired of wearing long johns and having to bundle up really good with extra layers of clothing (which I didn’t do last night which is why I was freezing before I got home).

It was 4 degrees when I woke up this morning. Now that is cold anytime but in April that is REALLY cold! I walked to the center of town with one of the guys that plays basketball last night and he said it was unusual to have this type of weather in April. This whole winter has been much colder than recent years I have been told.

Well, for those of you in the south, please enjoy spring for me. It looks like we still have a way to go here before the trees will be blooming and the grass turning green and flowers budding.
