This week I am in the Kharkov region with a team from the US. They are helping a church with a new building.
There are many scriptures referring to Jesus as the cornerstone, and even Jesus said, ‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; (Matt 21:42). So as the first stone was laid to begin the walls, I was reminded of these references in the Bible. I was blessed as the deacon symbolically laid the first stone.
The last 5 weeks have been difficult for me. I am living out of a suitcase with no place to call my home. My greatest desire is to return to my home in Donetsk, yet it is uncertain if and when that may happen. I miss Donetsk.
Yet, this week I have been reminded that Jesus is the cornerstone and the rock upon which my faith is built. I have been comforted in knowing that He is with me in the midst of all this turmoil. The one thing I am clinging to right now is the thought that somehow God is going to use all of this for His glory.
At the moment, I don’t see the whole picture, so I am uncertain how this will be accomplished. Yet, I am fully assured that Jesus even through all this, Jesus is the cornerstone.
