From the BlogContact Me

Three years ago today…

It has been an interesting 3 years. I came to Kstan for the first time three years ago in January 2005. I began a website in order for people to be able to know what what happening here. It has been a fun ride.

Here is a snippet from the first entry…

…Well, the move to Karaganda, Kazakhstan is complete, for now. Most of my personal belongings are still in Kiev. This is a temporary assignment until I sense whether or not the Lord wants me to move permanently to Kazakhstan…

A lot has changed since then. I have permanently moved to Karaganda and it is winter again. (Maybe not all that has changed…) I really enjoy living here.

Thanks for coming along for the adventure… Let the fun begin. The first, fifth and ninth comments will receive a special prize for stopping by…

Comments

  1. Joe – It has been great seeing that world over there through your eyes but more importantly the work that God has done through you! What a blessing to know you dear friend!

  2. Rozan, Congrats on being the first to comment. Thank you for your love, support and most importantly, your prayers.
Now I am off to church…

  3. Heather Podbielski says:

Congrats on 3 years of service! I know you have had some ups and downs, but God has seen you and yours through each step!
May God continue to shine on you and through you!

  4. Randy Powers says:

Congratulations, you are doing an awesome work. May God continue to bless you and may he continue to prepare those he has for you to come in contact with to share Jesus with.

  5. Jan Haynes says:

Thank you, Joe, for going where I cannot go and doing what I cannot do, and for sharing it all with me. I have enjoyed all of the letters, emails, and pictures over the years and hope to continue to do so for many years to come. May God continue to bless you in your work.

  6. Joe . . . As Voyla says “That’s what missionaries do, they move.” Some more than others. You just happen to fall into the MORE side of it. Blessings, Little Brother.

  7. Mary Louise says:

I remember reading that first post three years ago. Pust’ Bog dalshe tebya blagoslavit 🙂

  8. Jimmy and Sharon says:

Hey, Joe….I often think of your passion for mission when I hear Chris Rice sing,”….There is a Spirit who brings a fire, Ignites a candle and makes His home. Carry your candle, run to the darkness, Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn. Hold out your candle for all to see it. Take your candle, and go light your world. ! “

  9. Hi Joe, I too, cannot believe it has been 3 years. Maybe it doesn’t seem as long since we have gotten quality visits with you in between. Speaking of which, are you coming home for you know what??? I think they think you are. Talk to you later. Love ya, Cathy

  10. Jan and Cathy,
Congratulations on being the 5th and 9th comments. I will send you something special from Kstan.

  11. Heather, You are right. God has been with me all the way and continues to guide me even now…

Randy, thanks for stopping by. You need to come visit me in Karaganda (along with others from Faith, WF… I’m waiting…)

Jan, I can only do it because the Lord demands it and people like you hold the ropes…

Charles, I hope this is the last “move” for a while…

Mary Louise: waiting for you to make the jump back across the pond… Спасибо!

Jimmy and Sharon, Not sure I have heard the song by Chris, but I think that singer sung it a few years ago… I pray for the Light to shine brightly…

Cathy, I won’t be able to come home for you know what. Sorry but that is the worst time for me… Summers are always super busy…
