I am back in Ukraine. The Lord blessed me with a good trip from Dallas to Frankfurt to Kyiv. I barely had time to walk from the gate I arrived at in Frankfurt to my departure gate before it was time to load the bus to go to the plane.
The airport in Frankfurt is extremely busy. Oftentimes, it is necessary to take a bus to the plane. I have been on a huge Airbus plane with 300 people where we disembarked from the tarmac and bussed to the terminal.
The trip was mostly uneventful. However, my first cultural mistake happened while I was on the flight from DFW to Frankfurt. In Europe Diet Coke is called Cola Light. Every time I was served something to drink I asked for a Diet Coke. I guess it will take a few days to get used to saying Cola Light again!!!
It is overcast and cool here now. The sun was out for the afternoon yesterday. I was able to meet my pastor and one of my good friends at the mall yesterday.
Many of you may remember that my apartment flooded while I was in the US. As I arrived home on Monday, three of my neighbors asked me if I knew what had taken place. As it turns out, three other apartments were damaged by the flood.
Fortunately, my apartment was not too damaged. However, I had an extensive English as a Second Language library and every one of the books had water damage and will need to be thrown away. Thankfully, I haven’t found too many other things ruined.
Thanks for praying for my safe return…
