Week of March 21, 2005

Thank you for taking time to pray for these requests.

PRAISES: Alosha, a young man that I met during youth camp last summer has checked in to a Christian drug rehab center. I am praising God for this development since he has always said he didn’t have a drug problem. Pray for his salvation!

GOD IS AT WORK!
Trip to Astana went well. I am tired but encouraged by the witness of brothers who are starting churches all across the northern parts of K’stan!

IN FOCUS:

Manzupa (Maya) Tolivwoyeva, serves in Tajikistan. Please pray for her family who are unbelievers, for her work towards a diploma at the Bible Institute, and for the Tajik people.

Zhildiz Sidikova, serves in Kyrgyzstan. Please pray for God to reveal to hear where she is to serve, for her family to come to know the Lord and for the people of Kyrgyzstan.

MINISTRY: I will be traveling to Almaty on Friday evening on the overnight train. I will be visiting with a family from Kiev that will be moving to Almaty this summer. Also, we will be meeting with the leadership of the Bible Institute.

A new law that would limit the work of foreign missionaries has been proposed. I hope to provide you with more specific details after I get a translation prepared for me. However, begin praying for the decision as lawmakers will take up discussion of this proposal.

Pray for opportunities for mentoring national missionaries.

SALVATION: Please pray for Orlan, Valeri, Boglan, Slavic. Several of these guys work at the parking lot. Pray for God to give me opportunities to witness. Also, pray for my friends in Kiev: Tatiyana, Pasha, Alexi, Katya, Olya, Natasha, Alosha.

PERSONAL: I am confident that I know the direction my future will take but am waiting for a couple of things to happen before announcing what. Pray for God to continue to affirm these decisions.

I continue on my diet. I have my up and down days. The most difficult times are when I have to eat away from home. Pray for God to continue to work in my life for me to make healthy choices.

Also, since the first of January I have had a pain in my right leg. I am sure that it is a pulled muscle. I sought an opinion from a doctor who too thinks it is a pulled muscle. I am hoping to see a doctor while I am in Almaty. It does not hurt all the time, however, last Thursday while Anatoly and I were in Temirtau we had to do a lot of walking and it was hurting by the time I got home. However, I played basketball twice last week and didn’t suffer any effects.

I am hoping to find a dentist in Karaganda. I was given the name of a dentist.
